About
My name is Liza Piccoli
I was born in Glendale, AZ and spent my childhood in the underrated Midwest city of Lincoln, NE! I became a dance teacher at the age of 18, after a successful run as a competitive dancer since age 4. I fell in love with choreography and teaching and grew my knowledge of dance and theatre at Point Park University where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with my BFA in Dance! I now live in NYC and am making my way through the city as a choreographer, teacher, and performer. I also received RYT 200 status as a Yoga Instructor this year and am currently in training to be an NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist.
Some of my career highlights include teaching international dance teachers at Broadway Dance Center's Dance Teacher Workshop, Associate Choreographing with Jeffry Denman for theaters like Ogunquit Playhouse and Musical Theatre West, and roles including Hannah/US Katherine (Newsies), Hunyak (Chicago), and (upcoming spoiler alert) Mary Poppins!
When I'm not skipping through the streets between jobs, I'm making jewelry, reading, and spoiling my cats! I also write music and have a TikTok dedicated to my inner singer-songwriter.

My Journey

I began dancing at Age 2 in Lincoln, Nebraska and have never stopped!
From ages 4-16 I was a competitive dancer. I have always loved being on stage and I wouldn't be the dancer I am today had I not been given so much stage time as a child!
I started teaching at my parents' dance studio in NE when I was 18. My passion for teaching EXPLODED and I've now (8 years later) taught at studios around the US, Broadway Dance Center in NYC, and have choreographed countless competition dances and musicals!

In 2018 I went back to school and got my BFA in Dance with a concentration in Jazz from Point Park University! I also choreographed my first University level piece while I was there.
I made my big move to NYC in 2022 and have continued teaching, learning, and creating at every opportunity!
Up next for me: I will be playing the TITLE ROLE in the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center's production of Mary Poppins! I cannot wait to exercise my Soprano chops again and join an incredible company in this role!
